I was stuck in the corridor for 2 hours and 10 minutes with my things inside because neither the room nor its code worked. They reset the code and it worked once, but after I left I was locked out again. Nobody came to fix it, there was no number to call, and customer service on WA was slow. It was painful standing there for so long. I missed an appointment and had to pay a €40 fee, and by the time I got back in and showered, my evening plans were badly disrupted. The room was stale and had a strange smell, as other reviews mention. This was awful accommodation and poor value for money. The concept feels ridiculous when there’s no practical help. The location is right by a motorway. Stay somewhere else.

The room was dirty from the start, with grime in the cupboards, thick dark hair around the room, and a stain on the sofa that I didn’t want to think about. The air conditioning only let me adjust the temperature by 3 degrees, but it was still too cold even when I set it warmer, despite the outside temperature sometimes being -10°. The windows leaked, and on New Year’s Eve the room smelled of firecrackers even though I kept the window shut. The ceiling was unfinished, with pipes, cables and pencil marks visible. After three days of contacting customer service about one problem after another, Numa offered me another room because of the smell. It was genuinely clean and smaller than the apartment I’d paid for, but I didn’t mind. The next morning I found stink bugs all over the curtain. I sent photos and asked for them to be removed while I was out for an appointment. After hours of messages, support said they’d been taken away, but they were still there when I returned, and the room reeked of insecticide. Support insisted the bugs were gone and didn’t believe me. They said stink bugs were harmless and suggested I keep the window closed, even though the chlorine-like smell in the room was so strong I could hardly breathe. I felt they had lied to me, so I found somewhere else to stay. Numa didn’t cover those costs or apologize for ruining the trip. The problems had started weeks before the stay, when the required online check-in kept looping back to the same page after I uploaded my passport. I went back and forth with support for weeks before they eventually realized there had been a technical error the whole time. Since I booked months ahead, I was lucky there was time to sort it out. After that, I should have canceled, but I spent most of the stay messaging customer service and getting no real help. The fridge also made me throw away groceries twice, first because it was warm and then because it got so cold everything froze. The dishwasher didn’t work at first. Support sent instructions for a different machine, with buttons this one didn’t have, but after trying things myself I got it running. The whole room then smelled foul from the dishwasher and drain, like rotten garlic and fish. The dishes smelled the same and couldn’t be used. That smell definitely didn’t come from me; I hadn’t eaten in the room. Later, when I asked for a refund for the night affected by the incident, Numa refused and said its decision was final. I think a full refund and payment for the food spoiled by the broken fridge would have been fair. I booked through Airbnb, whose customer service helped me get at least a few euros back. If you book at all, I’d advise using Airbnb. Please read the negative reviews first: if anything goes wrong, I got no support from Numa. This was my stay over New Year’s Eve 2024/2025, and the most stressful vacation I’ve ever had.

The room was warm, which mattered a lot in winter, and the location was very convenient, just a few minutes’ walk from the company. There was good internet, a small kitchen for cooking, a bowl washing machine, and all the cutlery. Highly recommend.

I’ve stayed here several times and it’s always been fine. The rooms I’ve had were queen rooms and worked well. There’s laundry on the ground floor and a handy shared area. One odd thing on my last stay at Numa Stark: there was no beer in the fridge.

It’s a self-service hotel with a large room and your own kitchen, at a reasonable price. The centre is a little way off, but public transport is nearby. There’s also a clubbing place close by.
