Hotel Nymphenburg City

The room was cleaned daily without us having to ask, and they replaced the water bottles each day. That made our six-night family stay especially pleasant, and we had no trouble at all. The staff were supportive, spoke good English, and used the local Munich City Map to explain bus and tram options for getting to tourist spots. Hotel Nymphenburg is between Maillingerstraße and Rotkreuzplatz U-Bahn stations, each about 400 metres away. Nearby are the Indian restaurants Indisches Restaurant Taj-Mahal and Saravanaa Bhavan, plus the Indian grocery store Kirane ki Dukaan next to Saravanaa Bhavan. Breakfast was decent and had options for all ages, including pretzels, croissants, boiled and scrambled eggs, fish slices, cornflakes, dates, nuts, fruit jams, butter, cheese, coffee, hot chocolate for children, and some vegan choices. It’s a budget-friendly, family-friendly hotel and one of the best for us. We were happy. Happy New Year to everyone, may God bless you all with calmness and kindness.

The outdoor seating was lovely in the almost-summer weather, and the flowers outside were a nice touch. Our stay was really enjoyable, with lovely rooms that had everything we needed. The staff were kind and very accommodating. I’ll remember this place next time I’m travelling in the area.

The staff were lovely, but the hotel’s dated condition and lack of cleanliness let the place down badly. My room felt like a time capsule of my grandma’s flat in the 90s, and I’d never stay again. The bed was a single and very uncomfortable, with pillowcases that looked dodgy. The bathroom was also old and looked quite dirty on closer inspection: there was hair around the bathtub, stains in the toilet, and grime on the sink and tap. I couldn’t regulate the temperature except by opening the window. Since my room faced a busy road, that wasn’t an option if I wanted to sleep, and I was far too warm. The breakfast room was deathly quiet, with classical music playing. There wasn’t much food to choose from, and the containers looked old and used, so I didn’t feel like eating most of it. I can’t fault the staff at all, but the outdated hotel and cleanliness made for a poor stay.
