Hotel Excelsior München

We stayed for two nights, and the hotel was even nicer than the website photos suggested. The decor was lovely, and it was clean, quiet, and comfortable, just right to come back to at the end of each day. The location was hard to beat. We arrived by train, explored the city on foot, then walked about five minutes back to the station to catch the S-Bahn to the airport. I should’ve taken photos.

The food was very good, and the staff at the desk, breakfast, and restaurant were great. The hotel is conveniently located and reasonably priced. My only real complaint was that Bolt or Uber drivers seemed confused about the address and pickup on Schutzenstrasse. I’d also prefer firmer pillows. Feather pillows don’t work for me as an American. Thank you.

The suite’s big soaking tub was a favorite, along with the L’Occitane amenities, the very comfortable bed and duvet, and the breakfast. The whole place felt warm and traditional with a Bavarian touch, yet it was immaculately maintained and updated. Such a memorable experience. Absolutely love this place. Outstanding!

The soundproofing was excellent. Even though the hotel is very central, we didn’t hear street noise at all. It’s also ideally placed, a one-minute walk from the central station exit and about 15 minutes on foot to Marienplatz. Our rooms were spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The staff were professional and thoughtful, and we all enjoyed breakfast, with both a buffet and menu options. I wish we’d found this place years ago. We’ll definitely be back.
