Smart Stay Hotel Schweiz

I slept better than I have in ages. The bed was a twin in a single room, and surprisingly comfortable for its size. The place is close to everything and gives you what you need without acting overpriced. Staff were quiet but helpful when I asked. I'd definitely stay again if I'm back in the city. Just so you know, there's no microwave.

Right in the center and near everything, but that was about the only upside. The hotel seems old. My room was fairly clean, but the bathroom was tiny and the flush partly broken. The bed was a disaster: they put two single mattresses on a queen frame, so the mattresses stuck out, and it was much too soft and uncomfortable. They partner with a parking lot, but we hadn't been sent its address, so we had to stop at the hotel to ask for it. At 7 a.m. nobody was there when we tried to check out, and we had to change our plans. We didn't try breakfast.

It was very cheap and close to the center, but the neighborhood felt rough and made me uneasy. The room hadn't been dusted in a long time, though otherwise it was clean. The bathroom was tiny and old, and the shower curtain didn't keep water from flooding the floor. I'd spend a few extra euros for somewhere nicer.

The service was awful. We were traveling with a baby, and after our child had fallen asleep, we politely asked reception if we could check out half an hour later. The receptionist told us to wake the child and leave immediately. We complained to the manager and got a sarcastic response. The hotel is in Munich's central red light district, with strip bars nearby, and the area is dirty and loud. The walls, beds, carpets, and shower looked cleaned, but they were old and stained everywhere. This was the worst place we've ever stayed.
