Getting around Munich was easy from here, with a great location and very good public transport links. The hotel and rooms were neat and clean, and the online portal/app made self check-in simple. You can use it to unlock doors, request cleaning or fresh towels, and contact staff. My one annoyance was the motion sensor that switches on the light when you get out of bed at night. Still, I was happy with the stay and would gladly come back to Munich and stay here again.

The location made getting around very easy: the metro is right outside, with tram and bus stops too, and supermarkets, Morelli, and McDonald’s nearby. We also got a great deal, and the bed, mattress, and pillows were genuinely comfortable. But the room had no soundproofing. We could hear people upstairs walking around and the people next door talking and laughing until 6 am. The cleaning was a letdown. We were told our week included three cleanings. The first cleaner knocked at 8:00 am, which wasn’t okay, though she was polite. Four days after check-in, I asked the host about cleaning because the room needed it. She said it wasn’t a cleaning day, since they clean every two days, but would check because we hadn’t had one yet. After being out all day, I came back to find only the bathroom had been cleaned. The sheets were still dirty, the floor hadn’t been vacuumed, and the trash was still there. The cleaner had just made the bed with the same sheets. I was disappointed, since I’d asked if they could do the full cleaning the following afternoon if that worked better. There was drilling right outside our room for two days, from 8:00 am until late evening, while they put up a decorative fence. Nobody told us about the work. On Monday, while my partner was in the room and I was out, a maintenance worker tried to come in to put up a bathroom shelf. We hadn’t been told about that either, and if we’d both been away he could have entered without us knowing or preparing. The motion-activated light at the room entrance can’t be switched off. It was blinding when getting up to use the bathroom at night, so guests should be able to turn it off. I also think the room needs a fridge and a garbage bin. There’s plenty of room for improvement.

The rooms were very clean, and the self-service setup was easy to manage. It’s close to the U-Bahn, and parking is available, though the spaces are quite tight. We loved the sofa in the entrance hall. The pillows were the one thing we didn’t like. We’d stay again.

The building is brand new, and the rooms were clean. The manager greeted us at check-in and walked us through how to get into the hotel and rooms. It’s a really unique, cool place, and the location is amazing. Great choice for a long weekend in Munich.

The internet was fine for basic use, with 92.05 Mbps down and 32.72 Mbps up. The building also seems relatively new, without the mould problems you often find in post-war places. Still, the hotel feels very bare bones, and for what it costs, I expected more. Munich prices are high for the value you get, but not having a proper bin, a decent chair, or even mugs to go with a kettle (if you get one on request) feels cheap. It also seemed overpriced overall. There’s very little in the room: a tiny bathroom bin that fills quickly, a small and uncomfortable desk and chair, no kettle, coffee maker, cups, cutlery, microwave, or mini-fridge for food and drinks. No ironing board, wardrobe, or shelves either. There aren’t communal spots to sit with coffee or work, which I’d expect at many modern hotels. The insulation seems poor too. You hear neighbours, including footsteps overhead, and at night there can be banging doors, running, shouting, and loud conversations. Sleep was poor, and that’s surprising in a newly built German property. The self-check-in concept is appealing, and being in a newer building has its advantages. But the place feels aimed at students who can’t find a room, more like a dorm than a hotel. The location is okay, on the outskirts, with direct access to the U2 and a 30-minute ride to the main station. There were drunks around even in the morning, some dark areas at night, and I was approached by some shady-looking men after leaving the U-Bahn, which made me feel unsafe. There are restaurants, cafés, and a few shops, though they close at 8 pm in Bavaria. You can find the necessities.
