Zur Friedenslinde

I’m only reviewing the restaurant. Dinner was really, really delicious. I had the grilled calamari, which was so tender and tasty. The place is quite small, but the food is amazing.

The two women looking after the place when we arrived spoke Russian and a little English. The rooms were small, and there was no air-conditioning, but I still had a nice experience. They serve food and drinks too, though I’d keep an eye on the prices if you’re on a budget. Local supermarkets are open during the day. I’d avoid the central railway station on weekends because it gets very crowded.

There’s a lake and a big park a few hundred metres away, and the S-Bahn runs often into the inner city. The guesthouse is a five-minute walk from the station. It’s a charming, friendly place in Nuremberg, with affordable prices and a traditional German style. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. There’s also a restaurant with local specialities and average prices. The food was tasty, though not especially good, and might be worth trying if you’re staying here. We had a great time, and I’d recommend the place.

I had lunch in their fantastic backyard: pork schnitzel with fries and salad. It was simple but tasty. The staff were very kind and made a real effort to communicate, even though I don’t speak a word of German.
