Swatte Peerd is open again, and the renovation and modernization have been done with care. The service was very helpful and friendly, and the North German style cooking was delicious, plentiful, and easy to digest. They’ve brought fried eel back to the menu, a tasty specialty that should be eaten in moderation given its conservation status. Fish lovers will also enjoy the excellent plaice. Even the fried potatoes were just right, golden yellow, with no burnt slices or greasy bits of onion. Keep up the good work!

We came for dinner and liked it so much that we booked a night’s stay right away. The food was delicious, the hospitality was wonderful, and everything felt just right. It’s a lovely place to unwind, very family friendly, and everyone gets a kind word. Thanks so much!

The fried potatoes were cooked perfectly, and every dish was delicious. We tried rump steak, Finkenwerder plaice, and plaice fillet. The service was excellent too. We’ll be back!

A lovely little stopover with delicious food, welcoming people, and good rooms. It’s a proper Frisian inn, and dogs are welcome too.
