I had to switch apartments after two days. The place was filthy, and the balcony was covered in pigeon shit, so there was nowhere to stand. Neighbors from Ukraine partied every night until dawn. The building was a skyscraper, too. I booked through Booking.com, where the listing gave the street as Keiserstrasse and asked me to call before arriving. I called and was given an address 7 km from Kaiserstrasse. The Booking.com photos weren’t of the apartment on Betinastrasse. I don’t recommend it.

The kitchen had everything I needed to cook, and the place was nicely furnished. My husband could smoke on the balcony, which was a plus. The bed was large, though the mattress felt a little too firm for me. I’d highly recommend this accommodation!

At Bettinstraße 7, the apartment was okay, but the beds were awful. The description said “sofa bed,” yet my colleague had to sleep on a cot. I used an IKEA single bed, but its slatted base was loose at the edges and one side kept slipping out, leaving me lying at an angle. On our first day the elevator was broken, so we had to carry heavy luggage up to the 6th floor.

The apartment was cheaply furnished and the house run-down. Shutters were broken, room doors and windows wouldn’t close properly, and some drawers and towels were dirty. There was hardly any kitchen equipment, and leaky windows let in noise. The slatted bed frame was broken, and there was no private parking.
