Stadtidyll is in a perfect spot for exploring Wernigerode, and we liked the room. We stayed two nights, though the bed needs some work: the mattress is wider than the frame, so you keep rolling toward the middle.

The room was comfortable, and we could call whenever we needed something. But the whirlpool felt more like an oversized bathtub, and seemed suited only to people around 1.60 to 1.70 meters tall. We also had to share a tiny breakfast table with other guests, while some people had tables to themselves. They could have told us about that in advance, or offered us a private table during our three-night stay. The sauna was one of the reasons we chose this guesthouse, so it was disappointing to learn only when we arrived that it was broken.

We felt at home in our clean, nicely furnished accommodation, and ours even had a kitchen, so making our own breakfast would be easy on a stay longer than a night or two. The landlord has several places with rooms in Wernigerode. Breakfast is available and was perfectly adequate, though nothing special. I thought the bed-and-breakfast price was good for what we got. The rooms and apartments are all individually designed.
