The shared areas and inner patio are really lovely, and the whole house-hotel is very nicely decorated. I only looked around, I didn't stay, so I can't say how the service or breakfast is. It's about a 15-minute walk from downtown Baños, or just 4 minutes by taxi. Seems better suited to groups.

There were problems from the start: no internet for two days, and when it did work it was only 28K bytes. We also had no electricity for 24 hours, couldn't get milk for coffee when we asked, and found the hotel wasn't within walking distance of town. Using the facilities costs extra, and hot water was unreliable. Towels were limited, and we were told to put tissues in a bag beside the toilet instead of flushing them. Meals have to be taken at a time when the other guests are available. The gate situation was the worst part. You need a remote to get out, but if you leave after 5pm without one, you may have to call the hotel and hope someone answers, or wait for someone with a remote to come by. Nobody explained this when we arrived or offered us a remote, and they don't speak English. When a guest came by just to visit in the evening, I had to pay for an extra person in our double room, more than I'd paid for the room online. I wouldn't stay here again.

We were a group of five, and had the place to ourselves. It’s tucked away from the road in a peaceful, private spot with beautiful mountain scenery. Weekdays are quiet; if you want more action, go to Baños on a weekend.

The room had a slight musty, moldy smell, which was my only complaint. Otherwise, the setting is beautiful, the staff are extremely friendly, the rooms are immaculate, and the shared space is very comfortable. Breakfast was great too.
