The location made this a lovely stay, with the beach just a short walk away and good cafés and restaurants nearby. The breakfast was still one of the best, and their coffee was delicious, which is surprisingly hard to find on the island. Diego and Betsy kept the hostel running so well, and everyone was accommodating whenever we had travel questions or surprises. There was always plenty of drinking water, plus hot water for the tea and coffee nearby. Our room was clean, the pillows were really comfortable, and the HOT shower was wonderful. I’d stay again when I return to Isla Isabela, especially if Diego is still steering the ship. He really made it feel like home away from home.

The breakfast changed a little each morning, and Diego adjusted the timing to fit our tours. He and his team of lovely ladies were so friendly and helpful. We loved the clean, pretty hotel, its central spot for exploring beautiful Isabela, and the room, pool, hammocks, and peaceful atmosphere. We were so happy there we never wanted to leave. Thank you for everything, we’ll be back.

Diego and Betsy were especially wonderful during our stay at Hotel Loja. Diego made some delicious breakfasts by hand, with options beyond Ecuadorian food, which was a nice change. The breakfast was good and varied each day, and they packed us a snack for the early ferry. We had a great stay and would highly recommend it. Muchas gracias Diego y Betsy.

Diego was very helpful whenever we ran into an issue, and he’s very talkative too. He made an excellent breakfast. The courtyard is beautiful, the pool was clean and just the right temperature, and our spotless room was comfortable. Loved the rainfall shower. Thanks for letting us stay. I only wish it were closer to the beach, though it’s not that far.

It’s a quiet spot away from the main stream, with several nice casual restaurants serving great food. There’s a pharmacy across the way for small essentials, and one ATM bank in Puerto Villamil, about a 7 minute walk away. The beach and ocean are around 6 minutes on foot. People are friendly and willing to help, though only a few speak English.
