The host seemed friendly, and there was a kitchen by the entrance. The bed was huge and comfortable, and the shower was decent, though not hot. But the noise was awful. I’d read that it was quiet, yet there was loud music from Montañita, the neighbors played music around the clock, and about seven or eight roosters on the grounds crowed all day. Other guests smoked pot, and the smell filled the place. With only nets instead of glass windows, both noise and smells came straight into the room, and there wasn’t much we could do. Maybe we just had bad luck, but we paid a lot for the room, and it was some of the worst value for money we found in Ecuador.

The manager was so friendly. We arrived at 5 a.m. and, luckily, the room was empty, so he kindly let us check in. The property is lovely and away from the party area, which made it easy to sleep at night. The shower was cold, but it’s a beach town and most places only have cold showers. Wi-Fi worked well. Montanita is tiny, so the center is literally two minutes away, but the place is far enough from the noise. The kitchen is well equipped.

I came with a group of friends, and we had no trouble coming and going whenever we wanted. The place was good, with a really fresh, natural feel, and our room was clean and had A/C.

I had such lovely days here. I loved the nature, the birds, the service, and the attention. Jorgito, the manager, is a very special person and made me want to come back to Lumaga. One hundred percent recommended!
