Hotel Los Algarrobos

I wouldn't call this a hotel, it feels like a hostal. The advertised 3-star rating is misleading. There was no elevator or help getting our suitcases down the stairs, and the receptionist was often away from the desk, so you had to track her down for anything. Service was poor. The kids were never allowed to use the pool table, even though it was there.

The staff were kind and really helpful. The room could've been cleaner, though, and the bathroom shower kept switching from hot to cold. During a heavy rainstorm, the ceiling also leaked.

There was a nightclub across the street, and it got very noisy. The room also had an air conditioner that didn't work, a shower that kept falling apart, no elevator, and a man staring into our window. The place seemed to still be under construction, and the employees wouldn't do anything about the problems. Cockroaches were everywhere, including what looked like a nest in the bathroom ceiling where panels were missing. There were dead bugs around, mold on the walls, and noises from mice coming through the bathroom drain. There was no pool, despite what we expected. Avoid this place and find another hotel.

The rooms are clean, and the breakfast is good. The cleaning staff were very friendly and did a great job. The receptionist was helpful, though she speaks no English. There was construction in the rooms and outside across the grounds, with sawing, knocking, and grinding going on all day and into the evening. When we asked for quiet so we could sleep, staff ignored us and kept hammering, treating us disrespectfully. Several dogs were chained right under our room window and barked nonstop, day and night. There was no peace at the hotel. In my view, rooms shouldn't be rented out to guests during a construction phase like this.
