Travelers house hotel is right in downtown Cairo, so shops and cafes are easy to get to. Our short stay was lovely and comfortable. Our hostel Ahmed made it especially enjoyable by kindly offering to take us to the pyramids as a guide for free. I’d definitely recommend it for good-priced accommodation in downtown Cairo.

Right in the heart of town, very affordable, and with phenomenal management. The service was excellent, and they were helpful with every matter imaginable. By far the best hostel in Cairo, highly recommended!

Being close to everything was a plus, and the bedroom itself was nice. Still, I had a lot of trouble during the stay. The curtain rail was broken and uncomfortable, and the AC spat out a little water when switched on. The bigger issue was payment: even though Booking showed I could pay by card, the receptionist said I couldn't and told me to get cash from an ATM. I wasn't happy with that, and they offered no other option. The airport transfer was also a problem at first, though after talking it through with the manager we realized it was a misunderstanding, and he apologized. They weren't bad, but the experience caused me plenty of hassle.

The rooms are cleaned every day and the sheets get changed, which was great. Breakfast was nicely prepared and came out quickly, too. The staff were very friendly and glad to help whenever I asked. Easily five stars, and I highly recommend it.

Finding the building can be tricky. Look for the small blue panel marked Travelers house hotel on the left side of the one-way road. It's on the 4th floor, with a funny little elevator. The place is right in central Cairo, so there's a lot of noise and life around. The staff were very kind, though, and breakfast was excellent. I really enjoyed my time there. Thanks for everything.
