V Hotel Sharm El Sheikh

There’s plenty to do, and the food and activities were really good. The hotel staff were lovely and attentive from the moment I arrived. They looked after my bags while I checked in, explained what I needed to know, then showed me to my room and checked that I was comfortable. A very good experience.

The animation team made this stay especially enjoyable. They were friendly and kept arranging fun things to do throughout the day and evening. The location was handy for getting around and seeing nearby places, and the atmosphere was relaxing. Food tasted fresh and had enough variety. The staff were kind and helpful too. I had a good time and would stay again.

The buffets at The V Hotel had a huge range of delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. I only wished there were more hot and spicy sauces. From check-in onward, the friendly staff made us feel welcome, and the amenities were first class. Special thanks to Fayrouz the manager, Zayn in the restaurant, and Malek in the spa. Nothing to fault, we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting.

The food was a real highlight throughout the week, including at the à la carte restaurants. The contemporary hotel is beautifully designed and looks luxurious, and we enjoyed the spa treatments, which were excellent, though the facilities themselves felt dated for a 5-star standard. Management were helpful when we went to them directly, especially Ahmad, the restaurant manager, who was professional. The animation team were energetic and fun, and our driver, Mustafa, made getting around Sharm easy and enjoyable. Those positives didn’t make up for the service problems. The staff often seemed uninterested or unhelpful. Pool service was almost nonexistent: the swim-up bar was often unattended, and we waited up to 20 minutes for drinks. Restaurant waiters sometimes took drink orders and never came back. Housekeeping left our room unclean on two days of our 7-night stay. Once, when we asked a housekeeper to return after we finished getting ready, they selected “Do Not Disturb” themselves, leaving the room unattended all day. We came back from the pool to a messy room with no clean towels. Showers were lukewarm or cold on five of the seven days, and friends in another room had no running water for a day and a half. The language barrier made communication harder. We know we’re visiting Egypt, but expected front desk staff at a 5-star resort to communicate effectively. On our last day, we raised our disappointment with the hotel manager. At first we were told nothing could be done; after more discussion, they offered a few free padel games, which didn’t feel adequate given the problems. The hotel is visually stunning and has potential, but the poor service and staff engagement made it feel far from a 5-star experience.
