Boutique Calas de Alicante Hotel

The room was very clean, the shower had good pressure, and they cleaned daily and changed our towels every day. The Italian hotel students working as a team were polite and lovely, and Ferdinando helped us a lot. Wishing them all success. Diego was kind and professional too, and we missed him on our last night. We had half board, but breakfast and dinner choices were very limited. On the first two nights we were given three or four glasses of wine with dinner. Then on our last night, a new waiter, who seemed bored, said we could have only one glass of wine or one water per person. That really surprised us. We hope the waiter from dinner on 8 March changes his behaviour and is nicer. We hadn't known before arriving that the pool would be closed during our early March stay. Apart from the food and the pool, everything was perfect. We'd come back.

The receptionist was the one bright spot. The hotel was very loud, and the staff seemed poorly trained. Senior staff came across as arrogant and didn't even say good morning to guests unless they were Spanish. I would never return.

We booked a room months ahead for my girlfriend and me, but less than 48 hours before our stay we were told we couldn't stay because of electrical maintenance. That left us very few options for our 11 nights before our flight home. Looking at some of the reviews, this seems to be a pattern at this hotel. I wouldn't recommend it for a holiday getaway.

We used several hotel rooms for overnight stays and held a small pre-wedding cocktail party for 30 people on the outdoor terrace. Santiago, who planned our event, and the rest of the staff gave us wonderful service. They were friendly, quick to respond, and accommodating, and helped make the party a success. The location worked perfectly for us, between the city centre and San Juan player, with both easy to reach on the #22 bus. Thanks for everything you did!
