I booked because the off-season price was good, and the photos looked great. Once I arrived, though, I found a very run-down hotel. They seem to have painted an old, worn-out place in bright colors, but it’s still old and shabby. My first room had an intense sewer smell, not just a faint odor. I told reception, and they moved me to a smaller room that smelled just as bad. The next day they offered a third room, which had the same problem. The bathroom laminate flooring looked unsuitable for wet areas and was badly warped and split. The area around the toilet was damaged and smelled strongly of urine, presumably because it had seeped into gaps and cracks where it couldn’t be cleaned out. Sound insulation was basically nonexistent. I could hear the neighbors talking, peeing, and even having sex. The location is great, and the bed was comfortable with high-quality linens. After I posted my review, management asked me by email to get in touch. I took the trouble to do that, but they didn’t answer a week later. I’d strongly suggest looking elsewhere if you’re considering this hotel.

It gets pretty noisy because there’s almost no sound insulation, but considering it’s one of the least expensive hotels, I was happy enough with my stay. The hotel itself is very basic, though the rooms were clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff very helpful. They provide free water and tea day and night. The location is great, at the top of la rambla, with easy access to the beach and all the Tapas Restaurants and Bars in El born.

The price seemed fair, especially for a longer stay or if you’re mostly here to sleep and explore the city on foot. I felt safe there, and it was clean, which already counts for a lot. Still, Barcelona has plenty of better hotel options, and there isn’t much on offer if you want hotel facilities or activities.

The patio and seating areas were the coziest spots in the hotel, and the free coffee and tea were a nice extra. The location is great, with everything walkable or close to the main stations. For this price, you get what you get. The room was a bit stuffy but clean, and the bathroom was basic with excellent water pressure. The Wi-Fi is food. We didn’t need AC in October, though I’m not sure I’d book here when it’s warmer.
