Ramblas Luxury Apartment,

There are shared bathrooms on the floor, and one has a broken toilet seat they promised to fix. The whole setup feels like a rip-off. There's no front desk, they never sent the promised email with entry instructions, and they don't answer the phone. Laundry costs 25 € per load and air conditioning is 10 € a day, despite both being advertised. I could do laundry a block away for 6 € per load. Stay away unless your only other option is sleeping on a park bench.

Communication with whoever was managing the place was difficult, and replies took a very long time. The apartment is on the 5th floor in the attic, and on our first morning the elevator stopped working. We had to walk up and down 5 stories. Our stay was 5/27-29. The apartment was very nice and in a great area, with 5 rooms and no living room, but otherwise what we needed to get by. I thought. There was just 1 roll of toilet paper for 2 apartments, and we used it up the first night. You only realize how much of a problem that is when it happens. Who travels with extra toilet paper? 😄 The room's air conditioning remote cost an extra €10 per day. Electricity should have been included in the €100 per night already. Thanks, but we won't be back.

We couldn't find the hotel.

I was trying to enjoy my vacation but kept worrying that I'd get another message asking for more money. This was an overpriced small shared apartment with one bad experience after another. I'd have been much better off at a hostel or somewhere further out. Avoid! The location was okay, and the little balcony was cute. That's about it. There were many hidden fees: €10 per day for air conditioning, which wasn't included, and another €125 because we had an extra person. It was a two twin bed room, so of course there wasn't just one person. Communication was bad. Before the stay, it sometimes took a few days to get a reply, and a confused assistant showed up 30 minutes late for check-in. After they tried to justify charging us more, they sent new “house-rules” that weren't in the original description. They only restocked toilet paper when I messaged, even though there was just ONE roll for an apartment with 5 rooms. The hand soap dispenser was only refilled when I asked. One bed had several long hairs on it, as if the sheets hadn't been changed or cleaned. There were no soup or cereal bowls in the kitchen, and there was poop in the elevator that was never properly cleaned. Construction upstairs was insanely loud in the mornings, including weekends. Even earplugs didn't make it bearable. They clearly don't care about guests.
