Sweet Inn Apartments Ramblas

The night before we were due to arrive, we got a late message saying our original apartment wasn’t available. They gave us no information about the replacement beforehand. Once we arrived, they said it was comparable and even called it an “upgrade,” but it was across town in the gothic area. The change disrupted our plans and cost us a lot of money. VRBO hasn’t updated our reservation details and won’t refund us, so it feels like it could have been a bait and switch. While checking in, we heard Sweet Inn staff checking someone else into the apartment we were originally meant to have. The replacement area felt unsafe. We heard a woman yell “THIEF!” and saw her get robbed outside the apartment. The alleys were dark, covered in graffiti, and smelled of pee. One morning we saw human poop on the ground. There were cockroaches at the building entrance, the bathroom smelled like sewage all day, the shower head and porch door lock were broken, and there was no air conditioning in the rooms despite it being advertised. Neighbors were loud, babies cried, and you could hear everything. I could keep going. I don’t consider this an upgrade, and renters should beware. We learned our lesson and will never use VRBO or Sweet Inn again. I’d give negative stars if I could, but it did have Wi-Fi, so it gets one.

The guests are awful, making noise and showing no respect for the rest of the neighborhood.

Sweet Inn guests disturb people on the street around the clock. There’s shouting from balconies and loud parties, and police have been called many times. The street is filthy and full of rubbish. Sweet Inn needs to control guests’ bad behavior in residential areas and show some respect for the people who live here. Due a denuncia.

The company cancelled my booking right after it was made, and now we’re $400 short for our trip. A terrible booking experience.
