The Sky Dome

We found this lovely little place at a good value for money. We stayed in the double room with a balcony, and the view was wonderful. Barcelona is such a lovely city.

Tidy place, good location, and a rooftop!!

Our reservation had been accepted through Booking.com a month ahead, and after an initial message that one card wasn’t working, we provided another. We heard nothing else about a problem before reaching Barcelona. On the AVE that morning, we called to arrange key pickup because we had lots of luggage, but were told they couldn’t help before noon. With a business meeting to attend, we agreed to meet at 2 PM. Then, while we were already on our way there, they said the “real guests” had arrived and our booking was canceled. They claimed the card hadn’t worked, even though the reservation still showed as active, and suggested a nearby hostel for “only €80 more.” Barcelona was 85% full, and we had nowhere to sleep. It felt like they’d found a more profitable booking. Thankfully Booking.com relocated us and refunded the difference. We can’t recommend this place. Their lack of professionalism can wreck a carefully planned trip.

The hotel charged us for the booking, then stopped responding. We couldn’t use the accommodation because of Covid and the lockdown in May 2020, but they’ve refused both a refund and a voucher. Outrageous. Never again!
