Palacio Gran Vía, a Royal Hideaway Hotel

The rooftop bar was a highlight, with lovely Alhambra views and exquisite local Granada wine. Catarina and Maria knew their wines and made excellent cocktails. I also had a relaxing hammam visit and a massage with Hannah that left me feeling rejuvenated. The hotel is in a great spot near Albaicín and shopping l. From the moment we arrived, Alex at the front desk and Alex the doorman welcomed us warmly. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, clean, and smelled wonderful with the daffodil scent we chose. We’ll be back, it was well worth the experience.

The hotel’s central location is hard to beat, and the rooftop is a gem, with gorgeous views of the cathedral and the Alhambra. It feels exclusive without being too crowded. There’s a lot of character in the original features from its days as an old bank and residence, including the tiles, stained glass, and staircase. Service was impeccable, and breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety. If I’m being picky, I’d have liked the hammam pool to be hotter.

Our room was compact but still felt luxurious, and the public areas were gorgeous, from the detailed finishes to the rooftop bar and coffee shop/bar. The restaurant was beautiful too, and the bartender was wonderful. We were celebrating a birthday and anniversary in Granada, and came back to a delicious cake and a perfectly chilled bottle of sparkling wine. The concierge was helpful at every turn and had great bar and restaurant suggestions. Sabina guided us through the Alhambra, and we loved her. The welcome was among the warmest and most professional I can remember. The doorman cheerfully lifted our enormous suitcases, so I didn’t have my usual huge-suitcase shame. Reception was all smiles, and everyone seemed proud of the hotel. It’s an elegant small hotel in a desirable part of Granada, with a pretty rooftop view of the Alhambra. We really loved our stay. You don’t find places like this often.

We had a spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable room, No. 19. The staff were amazing, friendly, and always ready to help. We loved unwinding with a drink on the rooftop terrace, which has stunning Alhambra views, and the hamburgers were great too. Downstairs, the lounge was a lovely place to relax or get some work done. The massage in the Hammam area was so relaxing. We’ll definitely come back.
