The staff made the biggest difference. When we arrived, Elvira gave us a full rundown of places to go in the city and offered to call the spas for us. Breakfast was comprehensive, with delicious gluten-free bread that was safe for me as a Celiac. It felt more like a friendly boutique hotel than the travelers’ hostel I’d expected, and I’ll recommend it. We had a lovely two-night stay. It’s an easy walk to both the Alhambra and the city center, and the room was cozy. The rooftop had a great view of the city and was quiet, with nobody else there while we visited.

I had planned a family trip around Andalusia, but catastrophic flooding and a Red Alert made travel physically impossible and life-threatening for my family and infant. Most other providers, including Ibis (Accor), gave full refunds on non-refundable bookings because of the disaster. Rooms Vita didn’t. My free cancellation deadline was Feb 6th at 23:59. I contacted them on Feb 8th, once the emergency meant we couldn’t safely make the trip. I asked for a refund, but also tried to find a compromise, including keeping the payment as credit or a voucher for a future stay. I was willing to come back later. They refused every option. It felt like they cared more about keeping the money than having a guest in the future or showing basic understanding. Instead of offering empathy, they offered a “free breakfast” if I cancelled the booking myself. It seemed like a cheap way to avoid Booking.com’s commission while keeping my money and giving nothing back. I don’t believe everyone is like this. My experience with other Spanish hosts showed otherwise, and many were heroes during the disaster. But Rooms Vita chose 140€ over safety and professional ethics. To future guests, don’t expect help here if you face a real-life problem or natural disaster. You’re just a transaction to them, even if you’re traveling with a baby in a flood zone. Rooms Vita, keep the money. You clearly need it more than your reputation. I’ll make sure travelers know how you treated a family in distress.

The room was a comfortable size for two adults, and the bathroom was a good size too. But the toilet kept giving off a sewage smell, even with the lid closed. The hotel is conveniently next to a taxi stand, though it’s quite a walk to the town center square.

We’d happily come back. The guesthouse is tucked into a peaceful alley in the center of Granada, with lovely views and the Alhambra close by. Our room had charming decor, the host was warm and shared useful local tips, and the price felt very reasonable.

They kindly let us check in early, which helped us a lot, and even pointed us toward a fantastic flamenco show. The hotel itself is cozy and beautiful, with a lovely atmosphere and really attentive service.
