Hotel YIT Casablanca

The garage was a nightmare to reach. We had to drive through narrow streets for 20 minutes to find it, and parking without sensors felt impossible. The room was nothing like the online photos: tiny, outdated, freezing cold like a refrigerator, with no space to open our suitcases and just one towel. When we complained, the receptionist was incredibly arrogant and insisted this was the "Double Room" we’d paid for. We’d booked a room with parking, but the misleading photos and lack of service left us feeling tricked. We’re filing a formal complaint through our booking agent. Don’t waste your money!

The reception staff were extremely professional and gave us lots of information. The location is perfect and prices are great. Breakfast could use more choice and better quality.

The hotel’s biggest strength is its staff. They were always warm and welcoming, and the cleaners were so helpful. I stayed eight nights, and the place was incredibly clean, better in that respect than the four-star hotels I stayed in for business during 2021. Both rooms I stayed in had been newly refurbished. The receptionists were friendly and took the time to speak Spanish with me because they knew I wanted to learn. When I had a problem with a neighbour or neighbours, they showed real concern and moved me, even upgrading me. It’s also very close to main attractions like Alhambra and the Cathedral, and the nightly price is extremely competitive for such a central spot. Everything worked perfectly, but the hotel feels sparse and run on an unimaginative corporate model. There are no extras like a fridge, duvet or kettle. Plenty of people need a fridge for medication, and the place could use some thoughtful touches. Drinks are from a machine in the lobby, but there’s no tea or hot water. For an Englishman, missing out on tea, especially first thing in the morning, is unforgivable! I didn’t book breakfast because I like going out to find local places. The owners and managers should talk with their staff. I bet they have great ideas. They already have what a lot of businesses lack, competent, great people. Please do something to make the whole place great.

We stayed in an Airbnb inside Hotel YIT Casablanca, and it was a great experience. It was quiet, comfortable and convenient, with a spacious, very clean place and all the necessary amenities. There’s a park right across the street, Hassan II Mosque is within walking distance, and supermarkets and shops are close by. Definitely a great place to stay while visiting Casablanca.
