Arte i Espacio Home

The host was easy to reach about the entry codes and kindly kept our bags after checkout. The place is just steps from Gran Via and Plaza de España, and the ground-floor room gets good light through the curtains. It’s small, with air conditioning, a French-sized double bed, and a compact bathroom with the sink outside. A kettle, full-length mirror, and toothbrush cup would be useful additions.

The bathroom setup was the worst part: there’s no door, so someone has to leave the room whenever the other person needs to use it. That’s a basic privacy problem, not a small inconvenience. I also had constant allergy symptoms from dust during my stay, which made me question how well the place is cleaned and ventilated. The bed is too small for two, and sleep was difficult. The curtains let in light even from the streetlamps. At night the garbage truck woke us, in the morning the cleaning truck, and otherwise people talking next door could be heard. I don’t doubt the owner means well and wants guests to rest, but the accommodation isn’t set up for that, especially at €145 a night. It doesn’t meet the minimum standard for what it promises or charges. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a good night’s sleep.

The pillows were so soft that it felt like we were sleeping right on the mattress, and after the night we began to notice how dirty the room was. It looked lovely online, and the room seemed very nice at first, but our window faced a tiny courtyard with no air circulating. With proper upkeep and attention, the place could be much better.

The location is spectacular, and everything was clean and worked well. The service was average, though the place did what we needed. The beds seemed small for two people, and the price felt a little high for what we got. I’d suggest staying no more than two nights.
