The entryway was unsettling, like something out of a horror movie, and the place only got worse the closer I looked. There were three separate patches of black mold in the room. Cigarette litter at the construction site outside the window brought the smell right into the room. The walls were paper thin, and people having sex across the hall could be heard everywhere.

The WiFi was fast and worked well, and the staff were polite, direct, and efficient. The hostel is well located and fine for a very short stay, such as when you need to catch an early train or bus to the airport. The layout is just a long corridor with rooms on both sides, so the atmosphere could use some improvement. There are two shared bathrooms, and other guests leave the toilets dirty without cleaning up. The bins have no lids, so you can see everyone’s waste. The property isn’t accessible for wheelchair users or people with limited mobility, and there’s no lift, which also makes it inconvenient with heavy suitcases. One small suggestion for the administration: replace the picture frames in the rooms and corridor with actual photos, or take them down.

The room was so tiny it nearly made me claustrophobic, and the noise made it impossible to sleep. For what they charge, that’s not acceptable.

The central location is the one thing in its favor. Otherwise, it was a disaster: a 5m² room with a shared bathroom for a completely unreasonable price. As a chauffeur, I was badly let down by being sent there before catching the AVE. It was uncomfortable and noisy, with a building under construction that looked like something from a horror film. It felt more like a place for nighttime company than somewhere to rest. They don’t accept cards, which is unbelievable. Getting in involved a very strange code or calling the hostal. I’d never return unless there was absolutely nothing else within 100km. I haven’t included a photo because the room was so tiny my camera wouldn’t even fit.
