Hostal Abaaly

The rooms were comfortable and clean, with everything we needed for a pleasant stay, and the staff were really welcoming and went out of their way to help us. Hostal Abaaly is right in the city center, so it was easy to get to the main sights. For the price, it was great value. I'd happily stay again, and recommend it to anyone wanting a cozy, convenient place.

We came back to Hostal Abaaly after a few nights away from Madrid because our flight home was cancelled. After dealing with airlines, rides, and cars in small villages, checking back in was such a relief, and the staff remembered us. I really hope to return. It was our first couple of nights in Spain, and we were impressed. Nothing fancy, but very clean, with an extremely friendly team. It's near the city center, and there's a great tapas market right across the street. The usual street bustle gets loud, but I used a white noise app to cover it, so it wasn't a problem. I'd recommend the place 100%.

The place is clean, and sharing the bathroom was fine since it was clean too. It's quite noisy because of the location. The spot is really nice, right behind the market I loved and very close to the city. Madrid felt quite cold to me, and they hadn't turned the heater on. We asked for extra blankets, and that was okay.

There wasn't anything wrong with the hostel itself, apart from the usual noise: doors banging and inconsiderate guests. My room was in the worst spot for it, so I know I was unlucky. Still, the private room had no window, which felt claustrophobic.
