We got nice rooms with air conditioning, and the staff were polite. The location in the center was good too. But we found bed bugs, and couldn't sleep the first night. Staff moved us to another room. Each room has a different country name, and I'd steer clear of the "Israel" room.

The price is very affordable for a hostal in such a good spot in Madrid. There aren't many rooms, and the staff were extremely kind and supportive. I booked a double room, and it felt just like home. One of the most comfortable stays I've had away from my own home.

Breakfast isn't included, but there are several places nearby where you can get it. The owner was very friendly, and our room was clean. Even with packed streets right outside and a very central location, nights were quiet. You can hear the metro a little, but only faintly.

For a fairly cheap stay near the center of madrid, this was nice. We had three comfortable beds, a small bathroom, and a little balcony facing calle de las fuentes. The clean room had the basics, including soap and towels in the bathroom and a small tv. The wi-fi was a bit slow, but fine.

The room at hostel hispalense was clean and cozy, and they replaced our towels. We had a nice stay, and the stuff were very friendly. I'm not sure whether they speak English, though.
