The service, environment, and hygiene were terrible, and I’ve seen many negative reviews about it on the Booking app. The owner cheats customers and refuses to give refunds.

Solo travelers, be careful. The listing shows different locations on different platforms, even though the building photos are the same. They raise the price after you book, and the owner is a cheater. These guys are scammers.

The location was fine. It’s about a 30-minute tube ride to Gran Via from Oporto station, and the neighborhood and metro were fairly easy to navigate. It’s very local, though, and people don’t really speak English, which made things challenging. At around £11 a night, I suppose you get what you pay for, but the stay still fell short of my already low expectations. My room had nine beds, mostly women, which was better than some rooms with more than 20. The rooms were cramped and poorly ventilated, and they didn’t smell good. The bathrooms weren’t clean: hair and dirt covered the showers, the toilets smelled, and they kept running out of toilet paper. After about 11 a.m. the shower water turned freezing cold. The taps and showers were broken too. The owner would barge into rooms whenever he wanted and wouldn’t leave when people were clearly changing. He seemed aggressive and wasn’t helpful. The website says they speak English and Spanish, but check-in was a nightmare because nobody could speak English. That’s fine, but the listing should make it clear.
