Melia Avenida América

The breakfast buffet was excellent, and overnight parking was fairly cheap at 15 euro. But this felt below the quality I'd expect and pay for at a Melià hotel. The rooms are on the small side but workable, and the floor layout is odd. We had to walk well over 100 meters with our luggage, since each floor stretches a long way and the only two elevators are at one end. We asked for a quiet room but were put right by the elevator, which was noisy even with the doors closed. When we reminded reception, they initially ignored us, then agreed to move us. Staff weren't especially friendly. The A/C didn't work, leaving us to choose between opening the windows and enduring unadjustable hot heating. There's not much around the hotel to see or do, and it's still not that close to the airport.

Our suite was roomy and worked really well for the family, since our daughter had a separate room. It had a minibar, good room service, and a lovely bathroom. I especially liked the quality Rituals toiletries. We stayed one night before flying and loved it. The hotel is about ten minutes from the airport, very handy for travel the next day. Highly recommend.

The level lounge and breakfast were very good, better than at many similar hotels. We stayed one night before a flight, and the hotel shuttle got us to the airport in about 15 minutes, which was very convenient. The hotel was quiet, and the rooms were excellent with everything we needed.

We stayed on our trip's last night because the apartment we'd rented for the week had been pretty lousy. We wanted one comfortable night near the airport, and this was perfect. Walking into the room, we just sighed with relief. It looked beautiful, clean, and comfortable, and the beds and showers were nice. The restaurant was delicious, and staff made it easy to sign up for the airport shuttle. It left on time and got us there safely. I felt so comfortable, which mattered a lot because I was already anxious after the previous day hadn't gone well.
