Petit Hostel Palacio Real

The location was the highlight, close to everything, including a lovely park and the metro. I stayed 4 days in the 4 bed room and found it easy and comfortable. The bed was comfortable, and both the in-room bathroom and the public one on the floor were clean. I never had to wait for the public bathroom. Each bed has a spacious under-bed locker with an easy, secure keycard lock, and it was free to use. The main downside was that the hostel didn’t feel very social. I can imagine it getting warmer in summer, so fans would be nice.

A nice hostel with a curtain and locker for every bed. The breakfast is good, and it’s better to add it when you reserve the room. The only problem was that the toilet floor in Room 12 gets wet easily.

The curtains were great, and the hostel stayed quiet, which suited me. I liked that meeting people was an option without feeling expected to socialize, and the staff were polite and spoke English. Check-in took a little while. Water costs extra, and the shower water spread across the floor, though it wasn't too bad. Getting up to the top bunk was a bit awkward, but it felt sturdy and didn't creak. It is somewhat pricey compared with a better all-female hostel I stayed at before for less money, even though that one was in Sol, right in the heart of Madrid.

I only stayed one night, and the rooms, bathrooms, and toilets were all clean and a decent size. The place is in a reasonable location. My room was downstairs on the first floor, right beside the seating and breakfast area, so it was loud until 1 a.m. One woman kept laughing really loudly, which was frustrating, and breakfast was noisy too. That's why I gave it four stars.
