B&B Cortijo El Sarmiento - Adults Only

Carsten and Yvonne made our stay special from the start. Communication was excellent, they welcomed us warmly, and nothing felt like too much trouble. They helped with restaurant reservations, directions, and tips for seeing the area. We’d happily return if we’re nearby and highly recommend this lovely place. It’s peaceful, with beautiful views, yet only minutes from Mojacar and more. Our room was spacious and comfortable, the pool and honesty bar were excellent, and breakfast was perfect.

We loved staying at this beautiful rural accommodation in Mojacar. The views are incredible and Yvonne and Carsten are lovely hosts. Our room was very spacious and had air conditioning, which was a bonus. The pool area was pristine, and the poolside breakfast was perfect. The honesty bar has plenty to choose from, even cocktail-making instructions. You won’t be disappointed.

After selling our place on the playa because work makes longer visits difficult, I wanted a boutique hotel we could use when we come to Mojácar a few times a year. Our three nights at El Sarmiento convinced us we’d found it. We came in February, out of season, and loved the peaceful setting, fresh springlike mornings, and good coffee in beautiful surroundings. It feels personal and luxurious without being pretentious, and we hope to return later this year. Carsten and Yvonne welcomed us warmly. Carsten was unwell but still greeted us with a smile, and Yvonne was a great host. We know Mojácar well, but she still suggested places we hadn’t thought of. The countryside setting is idyllic. We stayed in a Garden Room tucked away from the main house, with a peaceful outlook. It was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and the sheets were just right for someone as particular as me. We asked for extra pillows and got them within minutes. Breakfast was a highlight, fresh, varied, and delicious. The scrambled eggs and bacon were superb, and the coffee set us up for the day. On arrival night, we had a wonderful meat platter with a great bottle of wine, just what we needed after the journey. El Sarmiento is the peaceful, personal place we were looking for. The breakfast is definitely a signature part of the stay, and the heated pool was refreshing without being freezing. Our room and bathroom were comfortable and a good size. The elevated position behind Mojácar gave us spectacular views. A few bigger pillows would have helped, since one small one wasn’t enough, and shampoo and conditioner would have been useful.
