Arcadio / Arcadia

There was no fresh air in the room, and it stayed hot all the time. The shower was tiny, there was no Wi-Fi in the room, and noise carried everywhere. Breakfast was just bread, fruit, and machine coffee, while the pool was tiny and boring. We were first given a dirty room and had to wait an hour for a clean one. Most of the staff were unfriendly, and security was rude and didn’t speak English. Several times they wouldn’t let us go to our room until we dealt with them and showed ID. Lots of hostels are much better than this place.

The beds were comfortable and towels were changed daily. Breakfast was okay, though it was the same every day and had no hot food. The hotel is very close to the sea and main street. A couple of things weren’t clean, including the terrace table and bathroom shelf.

For a one-star hotel, it was great. I stayed in the penthouse, where the view into other people’s sleeping rooms was excellent, and vomiting on the roof was always a pleasure. Having €1 beer for breakfast was the best possible start to the day. The staff were friendly and always up for a game of billiards. The loser had to buy the next round for everyone :)

Forget sleeping here. Noise comes from everywhere, and you can hear things from the bottom floor right to the top. The rooms felt like an easy 50 degrees Celsius, with no AC, and the whole environment was nasty and dirty. Google says three stars, but I’d give it one. This is THE HOTEL FROM HELL. Even €10 a night is too much. I really struggle to describe how bad it is, because it’s worse than you might imagine. No normal grown-up should stay here, and being here for more than a day is probably dangerous for your health.
