The staff at Hotel Riu San Francisco made my disconnection week so pleasant. At breakfast and dinner, the service team worked hard, smiled, listened to what guests needed and did what they could to help. They made me feel at home, and their warmth never came with any feeling that they expected tips. The rooms were super clean and comfortable. Mine faced the city, but that was fine. The bar man was funny and always made me feel welcome. The location is excellent, between Arenal and Palma, with a bus stop right outside. It was easy to get around by bus to the Cala’s. I’m sitting in the restaurant now with a view of the pool, and I can already say choosing this hotel was the best decision for what I wanted. I’d definitely come back and hope to see the same staff. If you book a massage, ask for Tamara, she has amazing angel hands. Thanks to everyone at Riu San Francisco!!

It was cloudy and cool outside, but the pool water was a lovely 22C, so I went for a swim in the morning. Even with the poor weather the night we stayed at the Hotel Riu San Francisco, the food, rooms and service were all excellent. We’d definitely return when the weather’s better and enjoy the long beach behind the hotel.

The staff were welcoming and very friendly, and the location is great, just a short walk from the beach. We had absolutely beautiful sunset views from the balcony. A few things didn’t meet my usual RIU expectations for an adults-only 4-star hotel. There was no kettle or coffee machine in the room, and you have to pay extra to use the in-room safe. The food seemed mostly suited to German tastes, which might not be for everyone.

Service was excellent, and the hotel staff were very friendly. But the room didn’t block sound well. Every morning at 5am we could hear reception staff talking loudly, along with noise from the corridor, adjoining rooms and the room above. Since it was January, an extra blanket in the room might have been a good idea.

The noise outside was unbearable at all hours, day and night. Nightclubs and bars around the hotel, especially behind it and along the sides, bring constant shouting and drunkenness. Calling the area ‘lively’ doesn’t really prepare you for that, and it would help if the advertising warned guests. Not everyone wants to party all night. If you’re after a relaxing holiday, this isn’t the hotel for you.
