For what we paid, the value was awful. I’ve stayed at the Gran Melia just a few metres down the same road before, and I’d recommend that to anyone considering this hotel. The fact that this place has four stars is shocking. We were incredibly disappointed. The rooms were fine, but don’t expect amenities like shower caps or conditioner. The balcony faces a big road that gets loud from around 9am, and there’s no sound insulation between rooms. We could hear our neighbors farting next door, and I’m not joking. We were looking forward to the pool and sauna, but the sauna was locked when we first went. Reception told us to book in advance, so we booked for the next day. When we called to ask about going 15 minutes early, we were told it was tricky because it takes 45 minutes to heat up. We also found out then that the sauna costs 10€ per hour. The fee itself isn’t outrageous, but charging to use it when it’s listed as an amenity didn’t feel right. There are no robes or slippers, which isn’t helpful when you need to take the elevator to the sauna, and it apparently fits one or two people at most. The pool was cold and the setup wasn’t very nice. There were no parking spaces left on the weekend we visited, even though free parking was advertised. There aren’t many spots and you can’t reserve one ahead of time, so getting one seems to be down to luck.

The rooms are spacious and modern, with comfortable beds and balconies looking out over the harbour. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great value at €18, with lots of choices, including fresh omelettes and eggs.

On a hot day, the pool was lovely and cool, and the bar service was great. They had delicious food and non-alcoholic cocktails. We had a delightful stay in a very comfortable room with an excellent harbour view.

From room 307, I could watch the port and cathedral at sunrise right from bed, such a beautiful view. I felt safe traveling alone, and the area around the hotel stays lively. Santa Catalina is just behind it, with plenty of nice places an easy walk away. The rooms feel fresh and modern, and I enjoyed the whirlpool. Loved staying here!

We spent three days here, and the welcome set a lovely tone: there was champagne in the room with a thoughtful note. The hotel was very clean, and the view made it feel like a great choice for a romantic break. Restaurants were easy to reach on foot. I also liked the effort to cut down on plastic, with water served in metal cans in still, sparkling, and lemon flavors. We could hear people in nearby rooms through the thin walls, though it wasn't a major problem. Everything else was beautiful, and I'd still recommend the hotel.
