Hostel Pura Vida - Albergue Juvenil

The view is nice and the breakfast delicious. The rooms were comfortable and clean, with a locker, and the washrooms were clean and well fitted too. Right in the heart of Palma, the place is lovely, and the staff were great and helpful with any questions.

Because it’s small, the place feels homely. In the morning we’d sit together around one big table, eating breakfast and chatting, and I made several nice friendships pretty easily. The staff were nice too. One thing to know: they’re not open during the night, so if you’ll arrive after 11 pm, let them know. They can leave the keys in the deposit box. Amazing place, location and island.

The location is great, right in Palma city centre, but they didn’t tell us there was no lift. I had to carry my luggage up three floors. The beds were damp and smelled bad, like they hadn’t dried properly. They didn’t have towels to give me. I asked several times, and the lady kept saying she would get me some, but I never got any. I went upstairs with my friend for two seconds to put his passport in my locker, and they nearly kicked us out, even though he was only standing at the door and wasn’t using the common space. I paid for breakfast but couldn’t bring myself to eat it. It wasn’t worth it at all: very little food, and the cheapest supermarket items. The kitchen was in front of our room, and the smell of eggs being fried early in the morning was horrible. The rooms were like saunas, with no air conditioning or fresh air.

The rooftop terrace was lovely, and I liked the decorations and the nice breakfast. The owners and managers were very friendly and create a relaxed, family feel. Since the place is small, there aren’t too many guests at once, which keeps things calm and gives them time to treat guests personally. Keep up the great work!
