We stayed four nights, and the city-center location was perfect. The apartment itself was disappointing, though, and didn't look like the photos. Walking in, it felt uninviting. It could use a fresh coat of paint, and the sofa bed should be replaced. Its duvet cover also needs washing.

We had a lovely five-night stay. Everything was clean, the apartment had what I needed, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Communication was easy and quick, and they were flexible about check-in and check-out. The old house has steep stairs, and there was some noise from the pedestrian zone, but earplugs took care of that. I'd definitely come back.

The shower was the worst part: it smelled strongly of sewage, and the odor spread through the apartment even with the door shut. We also found a few pubic hairs from the previous guest, and ants on the bathroom floor. The plant was covered in years of dust. I later got a partial refund from Booking.com, but I doubt a repair visit during our stay would have made the holiday better. I expect the landlord to ask again why I didn't complain at the time, as he already assumes anyone who leaves a bad review just wants money back. Booking.com, where I booked, doesn't let me leave a review or rating. I assume I was paid for this, since photos with a bad review would obviously put off potential renters. The apartment didn't live up to its promises, especially for €1800 for six nights. There was only a trickle of hot water for washing dishes, damaged baseboards and chipped tracks in the doorway between rooms, and the shutters didn't work. The kitchen was very sparsely equipped, the dish rack was broken and a safety hazard, and the cookware was cheap. There was no bathroom storage, and the wastebasket fell off the wall the first time I opened it. I hadn't realized it was only one room, or that getting luggage up 65 very steep, narrow steps would be such a physical strain. The apartment is only 70 square meters if the terraces are included. The landlord will now keep asking why I didn't say anything during the stay. The air conditioning also broke when it was 8°C outside with hurricane-force winds. The landlord says the bedroom unit was working, which is true, but it couldn't heat the whole apartment. My husband and I sat shivering in jackets.
