Parador de Salamanca

The rooms are a good size, with modern facilities, and the staff were very attentive. The atmosphere is charming and the views of Salamanca and its Cathedral are beautiful. It's a pleasant 25-minute walk into downtown.

We stayed two nights from 23/9/25 and had prebooked half board. The food was very good, and we ate every meal at the hotel. Staff were helpful and attentive. We had lunch at the bar after checking in, which was excellent, then went to explore Salamanca. It's a beautiful city, though I think we'd have struggled to fill more than one full day there. The Parador was a hit for us, despite these places sometimes being hit and miss. It's modern and well designed, with lovely city views. Check-in was easy; the room was large, well equipped, and very clean, though a little dated like many Paradors now. We had a garden view, but the city view is worth paying extra for. As the weather turned colder, the room was an okay temperature, but the air conditioning isn't very effective. I'd worry about getting roasted if I came back in hotter weather.

We picked this place because it advertised on-site parking, and I was a little worried it would be too far from town. It turned out to be perfect. The hotel was comfortable, with big rooms and great beds. It took about 15 minutes to walk into beautiful Salamanca, a lovely stroll when the town is lit up at night. Very happy with our choice. Breakfast at €20 per person seemed steep, so we found a lovely cafe in Salamanca instead and paid €7 each.

Stopped overnight on the way down to Gibraltar. The place was even better than expected, with a fantastic location and a huge car park, so we didn't have to worry about parking overnight. It's also very close to town.
