Pensión Urkia

We were there for two nights in July 2025 as a couple. The location was the only good thing about this Pensiòn. Our room was the smallest we’ve ever stayed in, and the bathroom was so cramped that you had to sit on the toilet at an angle. The air conditioning made a loud motor noise every five minutes, so I had to sleep with earplugs. The room wasn’t cleaned and the beds weren’t made during our stay.

We had a twin room at the back of the property, which was very quiet, a real plus with my elderly mother along. It was a good size, with plenty of space to open our suitcases and move around, and reasonably priced for central Donostia. Our room had a fridge, microwave and kettle, plus coffee, tea and sugar. There was a separate kitchen too if we wanted to cook. The staff were all welcoming and helpful, and the place is close to the beach, old town and shops. We had a great three-night stay and I’d definitely return.

The location was perfect, and the place is pet friendly. It was easy to find parking next door. The AC was making a strange noise, so we couldn’t use it, and the room got really warm.

A lovely woman checked us in and took the time to explain the house rules, walk us to our room, and suggest places to explore. She was charming and helpful, and deserves a medal! The rooms felt private, with comfortable beds and thick windows that kept street noise to a minimum. Tea and coffee are free just outside each room, and there’s a mini fridge too. There’s a great dine next door and a market across the street. Excellent value, and we appreciated the care they put into the details and their greetings.
