Stay: 16-18 September 2025 The most upsetting part of our two-night stay was how a birthday breakfast was handled. I had arranged in advance by message for a candle on a muffin. A young staff member lit it in front of our table, put it down without saying a word, and walked off. There was no birthday greeting or congratulations. It felt intentionally hostile and turned what should have been a nice moment into an awkward one for everyone with us. We paid €672 for three guests, expecting basic courtesy and professionalism. Instead, reception staff came across as indifferent, sometimes almost hostile. Ordinary requests felt like a burden. When we asked for an iron, we were told the hotel didn’t have any, which was surprising at this price. The way staff spoke to us felt more like a family argument than professional service. There was no service recovery when problems came up: nobody acknowledged them, apologized, or tried to improve things. I was left with the impression that staff either lacked basic hospitality training or weren’t interested in guests’ satisfaction. The facilities may be adequate, but the human side of hospitality was missing. For this price, I expected at least basic courtesy. I can’t recommend the hotel and would urge travelers to choose somewhere guests are treated as valued customers.

It’s generally peaceful, and I slept really well on a comfortable bed with working AC. The hotel is cute, about a 5 minute walk to the center, though the climb back up can be a bit much. There’s a street with moving walkways to make it easier. The rooms are all unique and beautifully done, but mine could use a refresh. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was fine, nothing special, and there are lots of bars and restaurants close by.

We were close to everything without being right in the middle of it, and the shower was great. The only problem was the air conditioning barely worked, so we slept on top of the sheets most of the stay.

We loved the quirky design touches, and the women at reception were warm and welcoming. Our room, Primrose, was bright, roomy, and modern, just right for two nights. The hotel also has a stylish bar and a big outdoor balcony, though the bar wasn't staffed while we were there because demand was low. It's an easy walk downhill to cafes, bars, and central Santander, with escalators for the trip back up. We had a great stay and would recommend this boutique hotel.

The room was lovely, though it could have used some tissues, and the building itself is impressive. The decor and finishing touches are beautifully done. Reception staff greeted us warmly whenever we came and went. The bar was a letdown: nobody was there to serve, there was no draught beer, and wine on the menu was €10, which felt extortionate compared with what a glass costs elsewhere in Santander. The hotel is also in a great location.
