Hotel América Sevilla

There is no sewage smell, which is worth saying! We got there before 12am just to leave our bags, and they kindly let us check in instead, which helped a lot. Everything else was excellent too. Breakfast was good, and our comfortable room was serviced well each day. There’s a kettle and fridge in the room, and Aldi is practically next door if you need water or milk. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is convenient for seeing the city, and the hotel itself is modern, clean, and well maintained, with stylish rooms. But the stay had too many downsides for the price. We planned the trip to Seville for my girlfriend’s 30th birthday, and I’d asked ahead for balloons, flowers, a fruit platter, and sweet sparkling wine in the room. We got flowers and a bottle, which we appreciated, but the wine wasn’t sweet as requested and was so poor we couldn’t drink it. The other birthday arrangements were missing, which was disappointing for such an important occasion. We also couldn’t get proper rest. The rooms have no soundproofing, and for five mornings in a row we were woken at 6 a.m. by neighbors’ baby crying and toddler screaming, running, and jumping. The duvet cover has no buttons or zipper, so it kept slipping around. Breakfast was the same every morning, and everything was cold, even the fried and scrambled eggs. For this price, it isn’t worth it.

The staff were friendly, and the location made it easy to explore Seville. Sleep, though, was really poor. The rooms get stuffy fast, so we needed to leave a window open, but ours faced the main square and there was noise pretty much all night. With the poor soundproofing, our sleep kept getting interrupted. The bedding was annoying too, oversized and with no way to fasten it together. Breakfast was average at best.

We could walk from the hotel to all the attractions we wanted to see, and for the location and amenities the nightly price was very reasonable. Getting to the train station on foot would be a bit far, so we took a taxi or Bolt for about €10 each way. Our room had enough space for two, with a mini fridge and TV, and the bathroom was quite large. The shower temperature kept shifting between hot and cold. Still, it was a good place to stay, and the staff were kind and helpful the whole time. I’d recommend it and would come back.
