At 10 pm I was out on the road with two kids and no way into the property, even though I’d paid. I don’t expect a refund, but I’m warning others to avoid this place. Before the owner responds badly as they do to other negative reviews, look through the ratings: they’re either one or five stars, which makes me wonder how genuine they are. I’d booked at the last minute and requested a cot for my three-year-old, since it was clearly listed as an option. The property rejected the cot request but sent access codes through WhatsApp anyway. I’d made a mistake in the booking: it said two adults and one child, though we had two children, and I acknowledged that. They then withdrew the access details so we couldn’t get in. I’d booked only 30 minutes earlier and asked for a refund, but they refused. They said the room couldn’t fit four, which I understand. Rather than find a way to accommodate us, they threatened to report me to Booking.com. Booking.com later contacted me asking for an extra €30 for the fourth person. I’m convinced this was eyewash: if the same room could take four for a fee, they could have let us in and discussed the charge. They contacted Booking.com before I did, knowing the issue wouldn’t be resolved immediately and we’d have to book elsewhere, leaving them with money for nothing.

They do try, but the cleaning wasn’t thorough. I found hairs, stains, and even a booger on the bed sheet, which didn’t look changed. The blankets were thick, though I doubt they’re washed often. The owner told me it was the first time this had happened after I sent photos and video as proof. At least the toilet was clean. The bathroom was shared, and in our case right across from our door. The windows had gaps that let streetlight through, shining towards the pillow once the lights were out. The see-through curtains didn’t help with morning sunlight. I woke before 7 am and couldn’t get back to sleep. They also turned off the A/C in the middle of the night; I’m used to air conditioning, and the warmth wakes me. The combination made for an uncomfortable stay. Parking is only on the street. They didn’t message back when I asked questions, only sending instructions the day before. I’d originally left a review with some positive notes, and otherwise thought the stay was okay despite those issues. This morning we got a €500 damage charge claiming we broke many things, including lamps and the bed. We broke nothing, and I think it was because of the constructive review they didn’t like. We declined the charge, and hope they don’t do this to others. I’m changing my review to one star. I recommend NOT BOOKING with Casa Blanca.

They use strong air fresheners, but the place still doesn’t seem clean. The room was small, with dirty beds and unchanged sheets. I think many of the five-star reviews are fake, from people who’ve only reviewed once.

Everything worked well for me: the room and bathroom were very hygienic, the staff maintaining the place were fantastic, and the breakfast and refrigerator were great. The atmosphere was lovely, and I heard no unusual noise, even though my room faced the kitchen. Having read negative reviews, I checked the sheets first; they were clean and in good condition. I’ll definitely return. The bad reviews, in my view, come from malicious intent. I recommend it 100%.

I stayed a couple of days after a friend recommended the hostel, and had a fantastic time. It was very clean, and the owner, Vanesa, was really friendly. The area was quiet for sleeping, about a 20-minute drive from the city center, with a bus stop right next door. I was delighted and will definitely come back.
