Luxury Oceanografico

We had a wonderful stay in this clean, comfortable apartment for two couples. It was right between the sea and the nightlife, and two handy bus routes went in every direction. Ismael helped us with check-in, and I send him kind regards. We'd gladly recommend the place.

The flat was old but clean, and the sheets and towels were decent. Check-in was slow because these are apartments in a residential community, not a hotel, and there's no reception. We waited on the street for more than 20 minutes with very young children for the person in charge. Then it took another 20 minutes for them to show my wife around. They don't just hand over keys as a hotel would; they wanted to come along, explain the stairs and elevators, and show us the apartment. They also suggested they might forgive the deposit if there was damage and said they expected us to take care of the place. There wasn't even a frying pan, so making a fried egg wasn't possible.

My reservation was for a month ago, but two days before it, the owner called and rudely hung up on me. He wanted to raise the price after noticing there was a festival in town and rates had gone up, so the reservation was canceled. What irresponsibility and shamelessness. Do not book this apartment. And is the photo shown with the reservation confirmation even one of their apartments?

The location is close to the Oceanogràfic, the City of Arts and Sciences, and the other worthwhile sights nearby, with El Saler shopping center very close too. Inside, the beds were bad and the sofas uncomfortable. The toaster didn't work, and there was just one old, worn frying pan, though a small Italian coffee maker and a microwave were provided. Hot water was fine. Two space heaters were enough to warm the apartment, but the windows didn't shut properly and most had no blinds. The TV worked, while the air conditioning heat pump didn't.
