Jose at reception was amazing and gave us lots of ideas for what to do around Valencia on our quick visit. We spent four days here and had a lovely time. The breakfast was nice, and being right in the middle of Valencia was great. Thanks for a really nice holiday! Greetings from Bulgaria

Our apartment was enormous, with lovely decor and lots of windows overlooking the square. The whole floor was spotless, and the staff were warm and helpful. I was already pleased with how beautiful and central the location was, and the old building had a lot of charm. The self check-in instructions were easy to follow. The website said there'd be no cleaning or meals, so the daily cleaning and morning tray delivered to the room were a lovely surprise. It came with coffee, orange juice and Valencia cake. I can't recommend this accommodation enough.

Room service was brilliant, and the modest breakfast was a welcome extra. The apartment itself was clean and comfortable, though I'm not sure whether it really counts as a hostel or a hotel, since it's called both. It's right in the historic centre. The Plaza has lost its atmosphere since the trees and shrubs were removed for modernisation, leaving a big open walkway with steel poles and canvas covers blocking views of the lovely buildings. The Juliet balcony was nice for watching people go by, but it was noisy from early until late.

The balcony view was nice and the Wi-Fi decent, but neither made up for the state of the room. It felt dirty, old and broken, and didn't look like the main photos in the listing. The bathroom door was broken, the shower temperature kept changing, and there wasn't a fire alarm in the room. Everything was crammed together, with the kettle on top of a safe just below the clothes rail. We were so disappointed that we left almost straight away and paid for another hotel.
