Hôtel Edelweiss

The location is ideal, just minutes from the slopes and with restaurants right on your doorstep. I had a very nice stay at the Edelweiss. The rooms were clean and breakfast was good. I'd happily book again when I return to 1650.

The breakfast was a letdown too. It could use an upgrade, with a banana, scrambled eggs, or even egg cups for the very hard-boiled eggs. Even the hotel's own dog seemed to be wandering around looking for something suitable. This was our second stay at Hotel Edelweiss, and we know not to expect luxury from a three-star hotel in Courchevel. Still, the basics should be there, and this time our room was dirty when we arrived. We reported it straight away. A staff member checked, agreed there was a problem, and offered a solution, but then nothing happened and we heard no more. We had to bring it up again at checkout. The way the complaint was handled was just as disappointing. The issue was ignored until we raised it again, and later the owner said the hotel followed the highest hygiene standards, which didn't fit what we'd experienced. Both the cleanliness and the response to our feedback were unacceptable. It wasn't worth the money, and this was our last stay here. S. Grimm

There was no internet at the hotel. When I asked the receptionist to help me connect to the network, he was impolite and shut the door in my face.

We particularly enjoyed the breakfasts, especially the homemade croissants, and the dinners at the hotel restaurant were just as good. The room was comfortable, had everything we needed, and came with a great mountain view. Staff were very friendly, and the location right beside the Ariondaz gondola was a big plus.
