Hotel Colisee - Verdun

The walls were paper thin. In the morning I could hear everything when someone took a shower. The rooms and bathroom were dingy and small, and the neighbourhood wasn’t good. Seeing a sex shop across the street tells you enough. It was also very hard to get to the hotel, and most businesses that were open had their doors locked. If we hadn’t arrived so late, we would have kept driving. We just tried to sleep and get out. Run!

The beds were good, especially in the standard rooms, and I also liked the rooms with a shower. It felt very safe, and having reception open 24 hours was much appreciated. Sound insulation from other rooms wasn’t very good.

It doesn’t feel worth 60 euros. The reception is good, especially the men, but the older woman wasn’t well mannered and should learn how to treat guests. She also wasn’t at the desk all the time. I’m very disappointed by how she behaved and not satisfied at all.

The rooms themselves were clean, and the place is very cheap and really close to the train station. Still, it was quite an experience. The shared toilet smelled and was awfully dirty, nowhere near as acceptable as the pictures make it look. The sheets were very old, and instead of a pillow we got a towel rolled up. The shower was quite dirty, and the sink hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived. It didn’t meet our expectations, and we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
