Aparthotel Adagio Access Orléans

The room was huge and comfortable, and the staff deserve a big thank-you 👍. It’s a 15-minute walk into the city and 10 minutes from the train station. The wheelchair-accessible room gets three stars from me because the floor was really dusty. We’ll be back for sure!

The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast had plenty to choose from if you’d paid for it. We had a nice little apartment with two bedrooms and a very small kitchen, which we thought would work well for a child. The catch for anyone arriving by car is the car park’s 1.90 m height limit. That wasn’t mentioned on the website, so taller vehicles have to park outside the hotel.

It felt like overbooking might be their standard practice, with “courtesies” offered only after a guest complains. We’d booked an apartment with a separate bedroom because we were travelling with a toddler, but when we arrived at 8 p.m., at our toddler’s bedtime, we found a studio instead. The man at the desk said the apartments were overbooked. Why weren’t we told when we arrived? The first compensation offered was free breakfast, even though the booking prices differed considerably. We eventually got a refund, but it was less than it should have been. They calculated the difference using the studio’s price on arrival, which was much higher than the price we’d booked the apartment at in advance. We also got free breakfast and parking. The breakfast was very low standard, and at EUR 9 it’s overpriced. Don’t be tempted to pay for it, there are lots of good bakeries nearby, like Roy.

The room wasn’t very clean, and it was smaller than the separate-bedroom room we’d paid for because they were overbooked. They offered compensation so quickly it seemed like part of the business model. I wouldn’t pay 9 euro per person for their breakfast.
