The luggage room was incredibly useful. I could leave my suitcase in the morning before getting the room card, then drop my bags after checkout and collect them later. For a cheap 1-2 day stay in Paris, you might consider this place, and the included breakfast was enough for the price. It was the same selection each day, baguettes, butter, ham, cheese, jam and honey, plus coffee and juice from machines. My room, unfortunately, was really bad. The beds are short, so anyone over 180 cm may find them uncomfortable. The power socket only worked if I twisted the charger, and it usually stopped charging after a few minutes. Worst of all, the bathroom was covered in mold and fungus, making a shower terrible. On my first night, a drunk man in the room dropped a KFC sandwich on the floor, peed there, then went to bed snoring like a train. The security guy said he couldn't do anything. Quite an adventure, and I'll remember that shower for the rest of my life, unfortunately.

I expected worse, so this was much better than I thought it would be. The location felt peaceful, despite hearing the area wasn't very safe. I didn't use the toilet in my room, but the public toilets and bathrooms in the hallway were clean and handy. Breakfast was good too. I only learned afterward that breakfast, coffee included, was available just once. They should have mentioned that at check-in or put up a notice. For the money, I'd probably return.

The staff were friendly and ready to help, and I was especially grateful when they assisted me after I got injured exercising. Breakfast is provided daily, and I really liked the morning coffee. There's a kitchen for making simple meals. It's a budget-friendly hostel with decent value, though cleanliness and comfort are average. It's a little outside central Paris, but still convenient, with a short walk to the metro and tram. Thank you for the kindness.

This was a bad stay, and I wouldn't recommend it. The hostel is very old, with worn walls, floors and furniture, yet the price is the same as newer places in the city center. In a five-person room, there were only two power outlets, and no lockers. I wasn't comfortable leaving my expensive phone charging while I slept. The ceiling is so low that someone on the top bunk can hit their head climbing up. The bathroom sink is inside the room with no door, so you can see and hear someone washing up while you're trying to sleep. There was no hand soap in that private bathroom either. Breakfast was okay, but the woman serving it was a bit harsh, and they don't offer halal meat.

This is my second time staying here. I first came in the summer of 2003. The staff have always been accommodating, and nearby there are grocery stores, restaurants and plenty of other shops. The metro is close enough, and the tram line is very close. You can't step outside and be in the middle of downtown, but tourist areas aren't far by metro. It's not a luxury hostel, nor finished to the standard of hostels in Germany or Switzerland, but it has what a budget traveler needs. My one suggestion would be more comfortable furniture in reception and the downstairs lounge.
