Hôtel Elysées Bassano

The multilingual staff at Élysée Bassano Hotel were so welcoming and made everything easy. The room was spotless, the service excellent, and booking went smoothly. It’s in a perfect spot, just steps from the Champs-Élysées. What an amazing stay, highly recommended!

We called a week before our stay to ask about changing from a double to a triple room. The receptionist said we could do it for 30 euros per day when we arrived to check in. But once we got to Paris, they said it wasn’t possible, in the middle of high season. Less than 24 hours before check-in, they told me to cancel the reservation and find another room anywhere. This was completely unprofessional and ruined our family trip.

We were impressed by the beautiful room on the sixth floor, and the bed was really comfortable. The hotel was spotless, and the AC kept us cool. Breakfast was fabulous and delicious. The personnel were friendly and courteous the whole time, and we felt at home right away. The neighborhood was quiet but conveniently close to everything: eight minutes from Champ'Elysee, Arc d'Triomphe, and several metro stations, with the Eiffel Tower a 20-minute walk away. There are several restaurants nearby too.

The hotel has a polished exterior and the staff were cordial and professional. Its location is excellent. Inside, though, things are showing wear and need maintenance. Our bathroom sink was cracked, paint was chipped on the baseboards and doors, and the mattress was starting to sag. There was no English-language news channel like BBC or CNN, and no streaming option such as Netflix. The air conditioning barely worked and was controlled by the front desk rather than the room thermostat. Construction was also underway on the upper floors. It wasn’t terrible, but at this price and in this area, it’s at the low end of what I’d expect from a four-star hotel.
