Hotel Royal Residence

Watch out for that damn liar.

My stay was awful from start to finish, and I strongly advise against this hotel. The rooms were dirty, the smell unbearable, the walls damp, and the sheets felt as if they hadn't been changed. Mold and grime covered the bathroom. I didn't feel comfortable, safe, or respected. There was no peace or privacy. Noise, shouting, loud phone calls, and arguments carried through the hallways. Staff were around but didn't seem available to guests, spending their time complaining or handling other matters. The manager was especially unpleasant, often shouting and constantly complaining. Her manner gave me an impression of hypocrisy and complete disorganization. Communication was difficult, and the place seemed more focused on money than guest satisfaction. The hotel's operations were also unclear. I got the impression that employees were in precarious working conditions and that management was questionable, to say the least. It also seemed that most residents were housed through the 115 emergency system, which may partly explain the unusual atmosphere and general lack of upkeep. Don't be taken in by the positive reviews online. They don't reflect what I experienced, and other guests' accounts also made it clear to me that those comments were far from the truth. This is a dirty, noisy, disorganized hotel with an unhealthy atmosphere. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone seeking a clean, quiet, professional stay in Paris. Avoid it if you care about peace and comfort.

The double-glazed windows were great, and I wasn't cold at all. I plan to come back soon.

Avoid this hotel. The room was filthy and completely unsanitary, and there were cockroaches. It was noisy too, and neither the television nor the bathroom equipment worked. Prices seemed arbitrary and dependent on the customer. I felt North African guests got preferential rates while white tourists were charged more. The owner was a smooth talker and changed rooms and other things without asking first. Stay away if you want to avoid disappointment.
