It's near metro station 4, so it's easy to get around Paris. The rooms are fine for the price, though the pillows are very soft, so keep that in mind if you prefer a firm one. Breakfast could be better, but the staff are incredibly kind. The name says it all, it's a budget ibis. Basically, you get what you pay for.

The metro and tram stops are close by, and the room was cleaned daily with fresh sheets and towels. Breakfast was decent for €10, especially since there aren’t many places to eat breakfast within 3 km. A good option if you’re keeping to a budget.

The location near a metro stop was a plus, and the service was fine. But the room design is awful. There’s hardly any storage or space, and the shelf is right behind the ladder to the top bunk, so getting into bed means squeezing past it. The sink sits in the middle of the room, with a mirror facing the shower. Who thought that was a good idea? There was mold in the shower, too. I couldn’t tell whether my sheets were changed or the bed was just made. It definitely lives up to the “budget” part of ibis budget.

The most memorable part of my stay was how hot the room got. One night I woke up clutching my chest and fanning myself, soaked in sweat and barely awake enough to work out what was happening. The air conditioning seemed like a textbook placebo: at its highest setting it got louder, but the room stayed just as hot as before. I started stepping out into public areas just to enjoy their cooler air. If you end up in this hotel’s microclimate, I hope your room has a working window so you can get some fresh air. We were three colleagues sharing a room, and I was glad to have company, but there was barely more floor space than in a spare bathroom back home. We rearranged the beds and made the room much more comfortable for the week. The original sleeping area had a bunk bed, with two single beds pushed together at right angles to make a double. I didn’t want to sleep that close to colleagues I didn’t know well. We moved the lower beds so one sat directly under and in line with the bunk, while the other went opposite, with about 30cm of its mattress tucked under what I assume was a desk. That setup worked well for non-intimate work relationships like ours. I hope the hotel keeps using it for other guests. I’d say to keep the “Budget” part of the brand in mind when booking. Looking back, it wasn’t actually that bad. There were no lies or changed beliefs, just the basic things needed for a building to count as a hotel. That’s the budget experience at Ibis Budget Porte d'Orléans. #couscousfairy

The location is handy, close to the Port D'orleans station, and the service was friendly. Breakfast was basic but fine. We had a room for two with a bunk bed, so a child could sleep there too.
